This year’s Wiley A. Branton Issues Symposium theme, “Vote! Your Life Depends On It!”, reflects both the legacy of legendary civil rights attorney Wiley A. Branton and the urgency of this moment. As threats to voting access evolve, so must the strategies, advocacy, and legal leadership used to confront them.

By convening leaders and practitioners from voting rights, labor and employment, and real property, trusts and estates, we are bringing together areas of law that shape democratic participation, workplace relations, economic opportunity, property ownership, and generational wealth.

National Day of Action

On Election Day, the National Bar Association will show up—together.

The NBA National Day of Action will activate our members, Affiliates, Regions, Sections, and Divisions across the country in support of voters and Election Protection.

Through our partnership with the National Urban League and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, NBA members can serve as trained Legal Observers/Legal Roving Monitors and support voter assistance and rapid response through 866-OUR-VOTE.

There are many ways to participate. Whether you serve on the ground, support the hotline, assist voters, engage your community, or join an approved partner opportunity, find your role and show up on Election Day.
